3. Irrigate

Until one night
when they spied Gul-baba,
the gardener,
struggling across the courtyard
with the Sultan's bath-water.

The Sultan's servants followed Gul-baba
through a wooden door
to a secret walled garden
where the gardener began
to water the plants
with his friends, the birds and animals.
