ANET PerformanceThe performance began inside the REX Cultural Centre. The audience were handed maps and followed the red-clothed performers outside to locations in the streets.


sometimes i want to drownSlides projected onto the rear wall of the performance space included statements brought to the process by the performers, as well as statistics and other information about scarcity of water and wars relating to water, and images from the devising process.

 

Outside, the performers worked in pairs or solo, sometimes with musical accompaniment. Their work was inspired by their own research and physical walks in the area near the venue, and developed during the workshop process.

ANET performanceWhen the audience returned to Rex at the end of the performance, they brought with them found objects and placed them on an altar. This was filmed and projected onto the screen, followed by a series of digital photos from the performances that had just taken place.
