ANET Festival: Belgrade, Yugoslavia,
December 2002
The
performance began inside the REX Cultural Centre. The audience
were handed maps and followed the red-clothed performers outside
to locations in the streets.
|
|
Slides
projected onto the rear wall of the performance space included
statements brought to the process by the performers, as well as
statistics and other information about scarcity of water and wars
relating to water, and images from the devising process.
Outside, the performers worked in pairs or solo, sometimes with
musical accompaniment. Their work was inspired by their own research
and physical walks in the area near the venue, and developed during
the workshop process.

When
the audience returned to Rex at the end of the performance, they
brought with them found objects and placed them on an altar. This
was filmed and projected onto the screen, followed by a series of
digital photos from the performances that had just taken place. |
