VÉRTICE BRASIL, women’s theatre meeting and festival, will assemble in Florianópolis, in July 2008.
This event has been organized by a staff, coordinated by Marisa Naspolini. This group has been meeting since 2004, discussing and acting around this theme – the feminine in performance. Artists from several regions in Brazil and from neighbouring
countries, creating a local version for The Magdalena Project, a
dynamic cross-cultural network of women’s theatre and performance
that in the last twenty years has created opportunities of artistic
collaboration and mutual support, having accomplished several meetings
and festivals all around the world. With this event, we intend to
create conditions for settling this network in Brazil and find new
perspectives relating to the visibility and the thought of a feminine
regard in contemporary theatre.
